I’m Jessica Ivana — I believe that meaningful design begins with empathy and story.
Born and raised in Indonesia, I’m the third generation of a Chinese family with roots in Fujian. I grew up surrounded by rich traditions, layered identities, and unspoken expectations. I also spent a brief time in Japan — just a year — but even that short chapter shaped how I see the world.
My journey in design started in high school, when I worked with friends on local branding projects and social media content. It was simple, but it sparked something in me — a curiosity about how visuals can shape identity, emotion, and connection.
That curiosity led me to study architecture, where I learned to think in structure, rhythm, and space. Now living and studying in California, I carry all those experiences with me — merging spatial design with human-centered thinking.
Design became my way of understanding — and bridging — the spaces between culture, memory, and belonging.
I’m drawn to work that feels human: interactive installations, community pop-ups, quiet visual narratives — something that can move, comfort, or bring people closer.
